Belize Alert is a public-safety application and service developed and operated by JMoss Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use Belize Alert, why it is used, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Belize Alert is currently in beta testing. Features and data practices may evolve as the service is tested and improved.
Information We Collect
Account information
If you create an account, Belize Alert may collect your name, email address, account identifier, profile information and photograph if provided, authentication information, status, and preferences.
Missing Person reports
Reports may include a missing person's name, photographs, age or date-of-birth information, physical description, last-known information, location, circumstances, contact information, case updates, status, and information needed to review or manage the submission. Some submitted information may become public after appropriate review; not every submitted detail will necessarily be displayed.
Location, safety features, and notifications
Depending on the feature and permissions granted, Belize Alert may process manually selected or device-provided location, Safety Timer and check-in information, selected contacts, notification tokens, and safety-event status. Private safety information is not automatically made public.
Technical and usage information
Belize Alert may receive device type, operating-system and application version, crash and diagnostic information, performance information, feature usage, general application events, and notification-delivery information.
How We Use Information
Information may be used to create and secure accounts, receive and moderate reports, publish approved public information, generate posters, provide safety tools and the Taxi Directory, send relevant notifications, investigate technical problems, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
Information Sharing
Belize Alert does not sell personal information to advertisers. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate authentication, hosting, storage, email, notifications, analytics, and diagnostics, and when required to protect users, the service, or comply with law.
Your Choices
You may update account information, control device permissions and notifications, avoid submitting information for public publication unless authorized, and request account or data deletion by contacting support.
